Lenore graduated as an art major from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA in 1968. Busy with family and work, she was finally able to turn to her art when she retired from Northfield Mount Hermon School in 2000. She has continued to participate in art classes and workshops with regional experts, Robert Carstens, Joy Haddock and Lynn Barry to expand and nurture her talent.

As an award-winning artist and member of the Keene Art Association of New Hampshire, The Northfield Arts and the Deerfield Valley Art Association of Massachusetts, she has exhibited her work in their shows and in numerous one-man shows in the local area. She has also exhibited pieces in Green Trees Gallery in Northfield and the James McGrath Gallery in Wilmington, Vermont. She currently has her work on display at Chrysalis Gallery in Swansea, NH, and on their web gallery www.chrysalisfarmstudiogallery.com.

Her first love is painting animal portraits in pastel, and she has done over 50 commissions for loving pet owners in Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, as well as Connecticut, Georgia, Virginia, California and Austria.

With the animal portraits, she has started a series of children in pastels and oils. Since turning to oils, she has experimented with various subjects of landscapes and flowers which challenge her to capture the light and nuance of color that exists in nature.
